I have been working off and on for several years to finalise many different short stories, some relating to November, others not.

A first selection, Sweets and Toxins, was published in late 2018 by Dalkey Archive Press. These stories are all quite small in conception, ambition and intent. Often domestic and intimate, they frequently turn on a stray phrase or sudden perception. For readers of November, they may come as a surprise, though again I avoid anything purely biographical.

Two other stories, ‘Something to Pass On’ and ‘”Pissing Bullocks”‘, have been published in Sixteen Stories Tall, a collection edited by David Viner for the Redwell group of Norwich-based writers.

Midnight’s Orphans‘, a one-off Brexit-related topical story, was published by Berfrois in late 2018.

I am now (early 2019) working to compile a second collection of stories, which I am planning to title New English Foibles.
